Unlike mass-produced commercial soaps, handcrafted artisanal soaps are made in small batches using the traditional cold-process method. This allows us to select high-quality natural oils and retain all the natural glycerin produced during saponification.
1. Natural Glycerin Stays in the Soap
Glycerin is a natural humectant – it attracts moisture from the air to your skin, keeping it hydrated throughout the day. Commercial soap manufacturers often extract glycerin to use in more expensive lotions, leaving commercial bars drying and harsh. Artisanal soaps keep 100% of this natural glycerin!
2. No Synthetic Detergents
Many commercial “soaps” are actually synthetic detergents (syndet bars) containing SLS (Sodium Lauryl Sulfate) or parabens. These chemicals strip your skin of its protective barrier, leading to itchiness, dryness, and eczema. Handcrafted soaps use only saponified plant oils and natural essential oils.
3. Better for the Planet
Artisanal soapmaking uses natural ingredients that biodegrade easily. There are no microplastics, synthetic foaming agents, or harsh chemical runoff going down your drain. Plus, our bars are wrapped in plastic-free, recyclable packaging.
